Tree Planting at Burleigh Heads

Tuesday 8th April 2025

On the 8th April 2025 we were finally able to lay Cameron to rest in his favourite place, with a tree planting in his memory and honour at Burleigh Heads.

Surrounded by family and friends Cameron returned to his final resting place, somewhere fittingly beautiful that we can all come to visit and be with him. Whether alone or in a group, this is now where we can all come to be with Cam, a place for us all to share our love, our thoughts and our memories.

Rest In Peace Cammy Boy, our beautiful boy, our brother, uncle, cousin, nephew, grandson, and great mate to so many. We love you and miss you. Forever in our hearts.

Forever 22.

We would particularly like to thank Hermann Vorster State MP for Burleigh and Cr Josh Martin Division 13 who both provided us with guidance in raising our petition to present to Council. We thank Cr Martin for presenting the petition on our behalf, and on behalf of the many hundreds of people who signed it on the evening of our candlelight vigil for Cameron at Burleigh Heads in October 2024.

We would also like to thank the Gold Coast City Council for voting unanimously in favor of our petition, and for providing such care and consideration to us during this time, and in the lead up to the tree planting. We were invited into the Council Chambers as guests for the outcome of the petition back in February, and all the councilors present were very considerate of our presence. which has resulted in this moment.

We would also like to thank those who have supported us, and continue to support us.

Thank you to everyone involved, it all helps to keep Cameron's memory alive in the positive way in which he lived his life.
